Designer Hu Sheguang teamed up with SMEG refrigerators to bring Chinese symbols to Milan Design Week.

Hu Sheguang has been recognized by the authority of the Milan design community, and has been awarded a certificate of honor by the specially invited art directors of the Politecnico di Milano and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.

Hu Sheguang uses the Chinese character “XI” as his creative concept, and uses the red color of traditional Chinese marriage as the main color, aiming to convey a kind of beauty and auspiciousness.Hu Sheguang said that in the 1980s and 1990s, when Chinese married, the refrigerator represented the standard of living of a family.Having a refrigerator at home is a manifestation of superior family conditions.

When designing a refrigerator, the first thing that comes to mind is to apply “XI” to the surface of the refrigerator.The character “XI” is red, and the bottom of the refrigerator is green. These are the two most commonly used colors in traditional Chinese culture.Hu Sheguang also used such a direct way to convey emotions to the Chinese and even friends in the world.
